Read about Kees van der Westen Speedster on line long time ago, CoffeeGeeks Mark Prince has thorough reviews, but never get to see one physically until it was showcased at Prufrock in London end of 2011.
Kees came to talk about his Spirit’s design philosophy, so we were able to pull shots off it and also with the idrocompresso.
However, the Speedster was not available to pull shots. It was only until last evening on visiting Alex that coffee was made and tasted from it.
Seeing it working and trying to understand what each parts does for the making of coffee makes you appreciate the amount of thoughts that has been put into the design and crafting of the small machine further more than just a window display.
It is best to enjoy this machine through tasting the coffee and seeing close up the details.
This link will lead you to the history and features of the machine at Kees site:
If you like to taste coffee from them, please look out for Alex new space coming soon and enjoy an unique experience from his red speedsters!
