Hong Kong Coffee Exploration 09: Academics at Eslite Bookstore

To most Hong Kong people who been to Taiwan, whether they are book lovers or not, there is a high chance that they know and has been to Eslite Bookstore 誠品not just because of their comprehensive well selected books but of its space and, some, 24 hours opening policy.

Situated on 8-10th floor of Hysan Place In Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, it stirred much sensational welcome.

Although the 24 hrs opening on Thursday to Saturday has been abandoned, the thought of coffee and books is undeniably an instant link. Not short of coffee shops in the same complex, Holly Brown, Starbucks and their own in house tea room ( coffee and tea from Paris and meals as well), the popular Hong Kong Habitu has just
soft opened its Specialty coffee outlet of Academics on the 8th floor.

Serving the same menu as its near by Yiu Wah St head quarter and roast works, it has similar material palette space wise.

Although the full menu is not offered yet ( alcohol and some coffee drinks are not yet ready due to license issues) the staffs there enthusiastically explained their various highlights.

With an outside seating area just outside the shop in the lift lobby / hall that leads into Eslite Bookstore, a front room with long table in the center and smaller tables and second room with cake and coffee serving bar and kitchen, it creates a nice welcoming space for book and coffee lovers.

We didn’t have any coffee here even the cakes, food sets and various brew methods and beans to taste were very tempting, next time !
